Why You’ll Love It?

Chateauneuf du Pape is France's first appellation. Beaucastel is one of the region's oldest and most well known estates established in the 16th century. Whilst 3/4 of its vineyards are situated in the famous appellation, 1/4 of it is just outside it. This is where the Beaucastel Coudoulet is situated. For this reason the Beaucastel Coudoulet is often referred to as the 'baby' Beaucastel. Being just outside of the 'grand' cru appellation also means it's great value as it's made with the same level of care and philosophy as the other Beaucastel range.

The Beaucastel reds are all about blending to allow the star varietal Grenache to shine with elegance and finesse. The 2013 is a blend of 40% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, 20% Syrah and 10% Cinsault. Each variety is handpicked, fermented separately and blended after malolactic fermentation before being aged 6 months in large oak barrels. This wine is a great introduction to French reds and Southern Rhone.

Tastes Like?

Ruby red, with intensely perfumed nose offering aromas and flavours of red fruits, red cherries, strawberries, roses and a hint of cassis. Hint of pepper on the palate with fine tannins and lively acidity that draws you back for that next sip. Super approachable and easy to drink.
