Why You'll Love It?
2010 was a superb vintage for Pomerol. Surrounded by the esteemed estates of Vieux-Chateau Certan, Petrus and Le Pin, Chateau Certan De May divides its fruit between around 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, but this wine is more balanced between Cabernet Franc and Merlot than the vineyards suggest. The sand-over-clay site produced a wine of ripeness, choc-berry character and a firm tannin profile.
Tastes Like?
Plums, ripe blackberries, chocolate. This is a rich, full-bodied wine that is among the ripest in style in Jean-Pierre Moueix's portfolio. Tannins are supple but massive in size and will need time despite very skilled winemaking. A gorgeous wine that will require at least five years in bottle before approaching.
