Why you'll love it?

Pietradolce make this wine from 80-90 year old, pre-phylloxera vines and are very low yielding, difficult to nurture and harvest. Often they haven’t been planted in neat rows because they didn’t have to cater for machinery, they’re typically grown randomly on rocky volcanic terrain so the only way to harvest is by hand. 2016 was the first vintage that was produced from their brand new gravity flow facility. It was also the first vintage of that Santo Spirito cru was made. The vineyard is located around 900 metres above sea level on the volcano’s steep northern slopes. It’s made from 100% Nerello Mascalese.

Tastes Like?

Aromatic red with dried flowers, cream, citrus and plums. Hint of pumice, too. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a delicious finish.
