Why You'll Love It?

Molettieri is probably one of the most old school producers out there. This wine is 100% Aglianico grown in the Taurasi area of Montemarano. It's produced from 20 year old vines situated 600 meters above sea level. The grapes are handpicked, aged in large used oak barrels for 36 months, resulting in a wine that's ultra age worthy.

Tastes Like?

Aromas of dark cherry, dark plum, liquorice, warm spice, earthy, savoury, smoked meat. This wine is very powerful, structured and rich on the palate with an incredible depth of flavours and remains vibrant and well balanced. Tannins are big and opulent yet fine. Full bodied and voluptuous mouthfeel with flavours of cherries, plum, mocha, herbally tobacco leaf, earthy, savoury meat. The 2006 is drinking nicely today but can be cellared for another 10 years or more.
