An iconic and one of the most respected boutique Australian wineries. Winemaker Robert O'Callaghan really embodies traditional winemaking methods with the basket press. The Shiraz fruit is sourced from local growers – many of the best dry-grown old vine Shiraz vineyards in the Barossa – including around Kalimna, Ebenezer, the Eden Valley and Central Barossa. The vines are between 60 and 136 years old. If you knew the amount the effort that goes into using one of these to gently extract the juices you would have a whole new level of appreciation for these handcrafted wines.

Tastes Like?

Deep red with purple inflections in colour with aromas of blackcurrant, violet, plum and cinnamon. Flavours of vibrant black fruits, black cherries, plum, earthy, savoury and sweet spices with a long lingering finish. Elegant and pure in its expression with a luscious full body, fine grained, well integrated tannins that will unfurl over time. A keeper for sure!
