L.A.S stands for Luck Art and Science. The Luck of the weather, Art of putting it all together and bit of Science to defy. These are the elements winemaker Nic Peterkin believes you need to create awesome wines that are truly reflective of the region. Nic is the son of Dr Mike Peterkin (founder of Pierro) and grandson of Diana Cullen (Cullen Wines). More than just having a history of winemaking in his blood, Nic has also achieved numerous accolades of his own. There was only 1000 bottles of the 2015 Nebbiolo made. Three of the five barrels that he made contained fruit on skins for a 400 days! Logistically this was extremely difficult to produce but the results speak for themselves.

Tastes Like? 

Medium-fully bodied with aromas and flavours of ripe red cherries, raspberry, dried rose petal and a hint of wild herbs. Silky smooth yet firm tannins that are typical of this varietal. The firm tannins are what I love about this varietal. Yet unlike many other Aussie Nebbis, this one is not trying to be Italian. The fruit forward flavours are uniquely and unmistakably Australian and proud of it!
