Coriole has been producing wines from Italian varieties since 1985 making it one of the oldest supporters of these grapes. Their Nebbiolo grapes were sourced from a vineyard in Gumeracha. Stylistically this Nebbiolo was made to represent its Italian roots, very much like a Barolo produced in one of the warmer vintages. Unfortunately, this was the vintage produced by these guys!

What it tastes like?

Rusty, garnet red in colour. Nose offering intense aromas of dark fruit, dried rose petal, pot puri and prunes. Medium-full bodied with silly but firm tannins that are well integrated. Concentrated flavours on the palate, dark and earthy, blackcurrant, wild herbs, tobacco leaf, liquorice and star anise.
