Why You'll Love It?
Les Closeries is a small estate created in 2009 by two girls, Pascale and Laurence, passionate about agriculture, agro-ecology and ... of course wine! Firm believer of sustainable farming and following biodynamic wine making methods, these ladies own a tiny 1.5ha in Haut-Medoc and have recently acquired another small plot in Margaux. Their vines are on average 40 years old!
Everything is done by hand, using animal traction for plowing and of course no synthetic pesticides or fertilisers!
2015 was an exceptional vintage in Bordeaux. The Closeries des Moussis has a strikingly intense and lively nose that flows on to an equally vibrant and fresh palate. Medium weight, almost Beaujolais-isque. Fruit driven flavours of red fruits, red cherries, black currant, leaf and a hint of liquorice and vanilla. Tannins are present yet ultra fine, well balanced acidity with a lengthy finish. Just draws you back sip after sip. Very smashable.
