Why You'll Love It?

The Adelina is a small boutique winery owned by the Gardner family who also brought us Some Young Punks. Their wines are produced in tiny quantities from grapes sourced from their own estates and other small growers. The Arneis came from vines planted in 1997 on a light brown to grey sandy site. Vines are planted N-S on a southerly aspect on the Bowe Lees vineyards in the Adelaide Hills at about 390m above sea level. Fruit was hand picked, whole-bunch pressed, split between 85% stainless inoculated fermentation and 15% neutral barrique indigenous  fermentation. Once dry the wine was stabilised and bottled.

Tastes like?
"... Arneis is a hard grape to get right, I think, but this is spot on. The balance is all just so, with the right amount of richness of fruit and silky glossy texture, cut back just right with flinty bits and cool acidity. The flavours are probably something like almonds, green pears, fresh herbs and maybe tangerine, with a touch of warmth. Finish is crunchy, like a crisp green pear and its skin. Such a lovely wine." 93 points, Gary Walsh
