Why you’ll love it:
Winemaker Gianfranco Manco is a special soul in the world of wine making. True believer in producing what God gives him each year his wines adapt to the vintage and he produces new wines with new labels. The 2013 Su Chi No Nau is made from the Italian Grenache varietal Cannonau, produced from century old vines. Gianfranco was a baker by background before turning to the art of winemaking in the 80s. But he didn't start selling his wines until 2005. Over the years his relationship with his vines has grown and he feels like they speak to him and guide him in his winemaking. Since 2005 his Cannonau has stylistically developed from a big bold red (at 15.5% abv) to something more elegant and refined.
The label Su Chi No Nau - ‘What I don't say’ is a play on the name of grape Can-No-Nau. Gianfranco rarely reveals his winemaking techniques and this wine is symbolic of his belief in letting the wine speak for itself without the usual commentary or getting bogged down in technical details.

Tastes Like?
Nose is intensely perfumed. Aromas and flavours of red berries, raspberries, strawberries. Upon first smelling and tasting this wine you could be forgiven for mistaking it for a Pinot noir. Ever so fragrant and delicate on the palate. Light to medium bodied with silky tannins. Lovely natural acidity. The wine simply dances in your mouth. A delight to drink!
