Why You'll Love It?

Mount Horrocks is a small batch, organic producer from Watervale, Clare Valley. First established in 1980's it was purchased by winemaker Stephanie Toole in 1993.

The 2013 shiraz was the 18th release handmade with a traditional winemaking approach: single vineyard, estate-grown, and handpicked. A portion is whole bunch foot crushed for mid palate texture and more complexity. The balance is cold soaked on skins and fermented in purpose-built vessels which allow gentle plunging of the cap. Aged in French oak barriques – 40% new – for 18 months.

Tastes Like?

Really elegant and refined shiraz. Nose offers aromas of ripe dark cherries, blackberry, liquorice, cedar and earthy sweet spice. Medium to full bodied the palate features succulent and juicy blackberry, liquorice flavours intertwined with subtle meaty characters, vanillin cedar and pepper. Very fine grained and supple yet well structured tannins.
