Why You'll Love It?

When one thinks of dry wines from Italy’s Piedmont, they are usually red wines.  There is a white wine though that should be on everyone’s radar and that's the Arneis! This is the perfect wine as we transition from winter to spring and into summer! Arneis is the name of the grape as well as the wine. In Italian the name translates to the "little rascal" because it is so difficult to grow. Traditionally this was because the better vineyard sites were always dedicated to growing nebbiolo for barolos and barbarescos.

The Traversa family have been producing wines since 1834. A small family production where everything is made authentically with passion from vine to bottle. Even the labels are hand drawn by Franco and Favio's father, Guiseppe! The grapes are handpicked from Neive and undergo low temperature fermentation with at least 2 days skin contact. This method adds that extra level of complexity on the nose and palate.

Tastes Like?

Pale yellow in colour with a slight, refreshing effervescence. Aromas of white flowers, jasmine, nashi pear, honey and a hint of lime. What I love is the well rounded, mouth-filling texture that's lifted by the slight fizz. Refreshing yet well-balanced acidity that just draws you back sip after sip. Flavours of ripe pears, lemon and a hint of honey.
